MCP Server#
Connect AI assistants to the Contact API. Works with Cursor, VS Code, Claude Desktop, and any MCP-compatible client.
Endpoint: https://app.tendrl.com/contact/mcp
Copy this config into your MCP client:
{
"mcpServers": {
"contact": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://app.tendrl.com/contact/mcp",
"headers": {
"Authorization": "Bearer <CONTACT_API_KEY>"
}
}
}
}
Create API keys in the Contact dashboard under Access Control → API Keys. The MCP tools call IAM- and account-gated endpoints, so connect with an account API key whose role grants those actions (the built-in Admin role is the simplest choice). An entity-bound key with the DefaultEntity role will connect but 403 on most tools.
Claude Code Skills#
When you add the Contact MCP server to Claude Code, skills are served automatically, no plugins needed. Just add the MCP config above and Claude discovers contact-devices and contact-admin skills via the server's resources endpoint.

Local Dev Server#
Flash firmware, upload code, and debug MicroPython devices from an AI assistant over USB serial.
Install with one command — it detects your platform, verifies checksums, and puts tendrl-dev-mcp on your PATH (which is exactly the bare command the MCP config above launches):
# macOS / Linux
curl -fsSL https://app.tendrl.com/api/public/tools/dev-mcp/v1/latest/install.sh | sh
# Windows
powershell -c "irm https://app.tendrl.com/api/public/tools/dev-mcp/v1/latest/install.ps1 | iex"
The installer downloads with curl, so macOS Gatekeeper and Windows SmartScreen never flag the binary. Prefer a raw artifact? Direct downloads:
| Platform | Download |
|---|---|
| macOS (Apple Silicon) | tendrl-dev-mcp-darwin-arm64 |
| macOS (Intel) | tendrl-dev-mcp-darwin-amd64 |
| Linux (x86_64) | tendrl-dev-mcp-linux-amd64 |
| Linux (ARM64) | tendrl-dev-mcp-linux-arm64 |
| Windows | tendrl-dev-mcp-windows-amd64.exe |
Verify a direct download against SHA256SUMS.txt, then chmod +x it and rename it onto your PATH (browser downloads of unsigned binaries also get flagged by Gatekeeper/SmartScreen — the install command avoids that). To pin a specific build, swap latest for a version tag; the current release and its checksums are listed at /api/public/tools/dev-mcp/v1/meta.
Claude Code skills: When added to your MCP config, the dev server automatically serves dev-provision, dev-files, dev-debug, and tendrl-orchestrate skills.
